坂本龍一 His first film back is the music for Yoji Yamada's film "Mother and I". This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the war and the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, and Yoji Yamada, one of the leading masters of Japanese cinema, has made a film version of the story that he wished but was unable to realize as a counterpart to "Living with Father," a play set in Hiroshima by novelist/playwright Hisashi Inoue.
Starring Sayuri Yoshinaga, Kazunari Ninomiya, Hana Kuroki, and others, the film was commissioned by director Yoji Yamada and Sayuri Yoshinaga during a concert with an orchestra in April 2014, and she readily agreed to produce the music. After his subsequent illness, Ryuichi Sakamoto's first important work after his return to work was the original soundtrack "Mother and I".
A limited edition vinyl version of this record is now available. The world's best engineer "Seigen Ono" mastered the music for this record, making it the best soundtrack on vinyl.
In addition, the ideal sound quality has been pursued by making it a 2-disc set. The film will be roadshowed on Saturday, December 12, 2012.
