商品説明
TIME" is a follow-up to "LIFE a ryuichi sakamoto opera 1999," a performance staged at the Nippon Budokan and Osaka-jo Hall in 1999, for which approximately 40,000 tickets were sold out immediately, with all songs written by 坂本龍一 and performed by Shiro Takaya ( Together with Dumb Type, he conceived and created the concept of this work.
After about four years of production since 2017, the world premiere was held in 2021 at the Holland Festival (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), one of the world's largest performing arts festivals, where Sakamoto was an Associate Artist. It was highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad.
The Japanese premiere was held at the New National Theatre, Tokyo, on March 28, 2024, exactly one year after the passing of 坂本龍一.
The audience steps into a space where only the sound of rain echoes in the darkness - from that moment, the experience of this work begins. The water surface on the stage shimmers like a water mirror, and a screen displays exquisite images.
The story begins with Soseki Natsume's "Ten Nights of Dreams" (Night One), "Handan" and "Butterfly Dreams," in which he says, "I had this dream. Along with the text that blends with these stories, the theme that runs through the film is "time.
Performance by Min Tanaka, Mayumi Miyata (sho), and Rin Ishihara.
Sound/installation/visual art.
All of them appear in the theater space as multiple "dreams" amidst the interplay of light and water, and the "time" that could only be experienced in the theater is now inscribed in the form of images.
