This is the third in the "Year Book" series released in 2017.
Originally, the plan was to compile the decade of the 1980s, but there were too many candidates, so the works here are from the first half of the 1980s.
It includes studio tracks such as "Photo Musique (dub)," which was only played once on the radio, but what makes this album unique is that it mostly contains many live tracks that were released to the public for the first time.
It includes a live collaboration track with Phew in 1980, "Enkyoku," a live performance with the band B-2, which was formed at that time, and a live performance with the band Units. Units, the choral piece "Shosetsu" commissioned by the Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus, which some members refused to sing because of Ryu Murakami's radical lyrics, and finally the 1984 Kanagawa Arts Festival's "World of Contemporary Japanese Composers Series 坂本龍一. The last part of the album includes a rare performance of five pieces from "Merry Christmas at the Battlefield" with Yuji Takahashi and Aki Takahashi as guests, and three solo pieces at the 1984 Kanagawa Arts Festival.
As in the past, an interview with 坂本龍一 explaining the songs and a booklet with rare photos from that time are also included.
