Kraftwerk tips its hat and Deebo raves about the Yellow Magic Orchestra. New worldwide release! YMO performed at the "Fusion Festival" in December 1978, and after seeing the performance, A&M producer Tommy Ripuma immediately decided to release the album overseas, and remixed it in LA the following year. The last song on the album, "Acrobat," was cut from the album, and "East Wind" had Minako Yoshida's vocal dubbed in, and other echoes were added for the U.S. market (?). The cover of the album features a cord growing out of the head. The jacket was changed to a sunglasses geisha with a cord growing out of her head. Released in May 1979 in the U.S. with the single "Firecracker", and in June in the U.K. (the single was "East Wind"). The reissued version is坂本龍一The reissue includes the latest "YMO Review Interview" with Yukihiro Takahashi, and a reissue of Haruomi Hosono's Toshiba disc (1999), using Hosono's remastered sound source from 1999.
