Hotel Valentine, the first new album in 15 years by Cibo Matto, a unit of Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori, released in March 2014, is now available at commmonsmart as a signed copy!
Their second album, Stereo, released in 1999 ★ After the release of their second album "Stereo Type A" in 1999, Cibo Matto stopped performing live in 2001, but returned to the stage for the first time in about 10 years at a charity show for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake held in the U.S. in 2011, which triggered the girls to resume their music career in earnest.
The two women have said that by separating for the first time, they realized how special it is to be able to do something that could only be done by the two of them together, something new that is created when the two of them are together. The idea of making a film without images, just sound, called "Hotel Valentine" was sparked at several meetings for the reunion of the band. The resulting album, "Hotel Valentine," <ホテルの廊下を忍び歩くゴーストとのラブストーリー>, is a film created by the imagination of the two Cibo Mattos, and is a kind of soundtrack to that film.
