Story】
France in the 19th century. Hervé, a young soldier, falls in love with and marries the beautiful Hélène. Hervé's happy honeymoon is short-lived when he decides to travel to Japan, far away in the Far East, to procure silkworms. Hervé sets off on a long and arduous journey to a foreign land he has never seen or heard of, but in a small village he is led to, he is captivated by a mysterious, silky-skinned girl who serves as the wife of his business partner.
Unable to forget her, Hervé risks his life and travels to Japan many times. Hélène quietly watches over her husband and awaits his return with an unchanging love.
Where will their love lead them? When Hervé completes his last journey, he receives a letter in Japanese.
