Released in 2013, Ryuichi Sakamoto took the opportunity of working on the theme music for NHK's historical drama "Yae no Sakura" to select his favorite and most memorable theme songs from past episodes of the drama. Ryuichi Sakamoto, who has been an avid viewer of historical dramas since he was a boy, has selected a total of 16 theme songs, from Toru Takemitsu's "Minamoto no Yoshitsune" in 1966 to Taro Iwashiro's "Aoi Tokugawa Sandai" in 2000. The booklet also includes interviews and comments on each song, allowing the reader to follow the history of the theme songs of the drama series from Ryuichi Sakamoto's point of view and what to listen to.
