Immediately after the Great East Japan Earthquake坂本龍一The Tohoku Youth Orchestra, a mixed orchestra of elementary school students to university students from Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures, was started by the Tohoku Youth Orchestra, Inc.

坂本龍一The orchestra will perform in Iwate on March 23, Miyagi on March 24, Fukushima on March 30, and Tokyo on March 31, 2024, as a memorial performance for the director, who passed away on March 28 the previous year,坂本龍一Sakamoto's representative piece "The
Last Emperor", "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", "Aqua", "The Sheltering
Sky", "El Mar", which Sakamoto wrote for the opening ceremony of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and "The Sheltering Sky", which was also performed in his last solo piano concert work, "Opus".
Mediterrani" written by Sakamoto for the opening ceremony of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, and the "Japan Soccer Song," known as one of the anthems of Japanese soccer, are all included in the album.坂本龍一This work includes the entire concert composed of music.
Ms. Sayuri Yoshinaga and Ms. Nono participated in the reading corner.
Proceeds from the sale of this album will fund activities to continue the Tohoku Youth Orchestra.
