12k has released a rare EP.
Released alongside the new album by Solo Andata, the EP consists of album mixes and tracks remixed by regular 12k artists Giuseppe Ieraci and {{620013beb61f4753af2d81d4f755 dbf3}} as remixers. Sakamoto's remix of "Cholare" starts the album off beautifully with a simple drone ambient sound. While by no means an innovative or revolutionary concept, Sakamoto's work is noteworthy. Layering sharp noises and hazy harmonies, Sakamoto, a veteran composer himself, arranges the original songs in a beautiful and soothing manner. Yerashi, on the other hand, creates a more dynamic worldview by applying a warm glow to the acoustic sound of the original.
All three tracks are excellent, but Sakamoto's "Cholare" in particular is a must-hear.
