We're pleased to introduce a commemorative new Ryuichi Sakamoto shoulder bag created to mark this exhibition in collaboration with Japanese bagmaker Yoshida Co.'s lifestyle brand Porter. Designed by GOO CHOKI PAR, the bag has been made using recyclable fabric and can hold a 12-inch record. The limited-edition items, previously available only at the exhibition venue and select PORTER STORE, are finally available online!
We spread out the soundscape of Ryuichi Sakamoto's performance and its tones across the bag. Using the two moments of his performance and the resonating sound as motifs, we overlaid two different colour schemes representing two distinct worldviews, resulting in a total of four designs. A futuristic blue/red connecting the eras of the 1970 and 2025 World Expos, and black and white depicting a scene where only sound remains in the silence. While each bag has a different expression, all are expressed under the theme of ‘shaping sound.’
