The "Professor" and the "Hakase" - the first life essay by two longtime friends.

Ryuichi Sakamoto, aka "The Professor," took techno music by storm in the 1980s.
Since then, he has always been at the forefront of his field, but in recent years he has released a series of sounds that incorporate natural "noise," which contrasts with electronic music.
On the other hand, Shinichi Fukuoka, also known as "Hakase," has been pursuing elemental reductionist science symbolized by DNA analysis as a molecular biologist, but he has questioned this methodology and established his own philosophy of life, dynamic equilibrium theory, which views life phenomena as a single "flow.

The two, who have known each other for 20 years, discuss their paths to the present while experiencing various setbacks.
In this time of dramatic change in our view of life and death since the Corona pandemic, we would like to turn our attention to making our lives brighter.
The two men, who are well versed in many fields such as music, art, philosophy, and science, have arrived at what they have come to after repeated dialogues.

From the text

If you don't take the first step, you don't know where the goal is. One day, I had a moment when I realized, "Ah, this is the goal," and I could see the next mountain, which I had not been able to see before. I thought, "This is not the end, I have to go there next.

The finite nature of individual life is the motivation for all cultural, artistic, and academic activities. Life shines because it is finite. This is how the whole life system has continued and can continue.
