This is the fourth installment of the "にほんのうた" series, in which artists leading the current music scene breathe new life into beautiful and nostalgic Japanese shoka and children's songs! This final installment also features a wide variety of artists!
Whenever someone hums a song, the circle of singing naturally spreads to everyone present, and this is how deeply connected to the emotional landscape of the Japanese people are the many "children's songs" and "shoka" that we have learned in elementary and junior high schools. Recently, however, many of these songs have disappeared from music textbooks, and many of them are no longer familiar to today's children. The disappearance of shoka and children's songs that have been loved by generations of children may be synonymous with the loss of the means to convey the original landscape of Japan and the lifestyle, culture, and customs of the time, as well as the loss of valuable shared experiences between generations.
This "にほんのうた" is a project to reproduce beautiful and nostalgic Japanese shoka and children's songs, and to breathe new life into them with the sensitivity of artists who are leading the current music scene, so that they can be passed on to children who will carry the future in a form appropriate for the current era. This series was started with the idea of passing on these songs to the children of the future in a form appropriate for the current era.
