Released in 2013, this piece was inspired by his work on the theme song for NHK's historical drama "Yae no Sakura," a selection of his most memorable and favorite theme songs from past historical dramas. An avid viewer of historical dramas since his youth, 坂本龍一 has selected a total of 16 theme songs from Toru Takemitsu's "Minamoto Yoshitsune" in 1966 to Taro Iwashiro's "Aoi Tokugawa III" in 2000. Interviews and comments on each song are also included in the booklet, allowing the reader to follow the history of the theme songs of the drama series from 坂本龍一's perspective and what to listen to.
