Released in 2013, the theme song for NHK's historical drama "Yae no Sakura" was chosen as the inspiration for this selection of memorable and favorite theme songs from past episodes of the drama. He has been an avid viewer of the Taiga Drama since he was a boy.坂本龍一He has selected a total of 16 theme songs from Toru Takemitsu's "Minamoto no Yoshitsune" in 1966 to Taro Iwashiro's "Aoi Tokugawa Sandai" in 2000. Interviews and comments on each piece are also included in the booklet,坂本龍一The booklet also includes interviews and comments on each song, allowing the reader to follow the history of the theme songs of the Taiga dramas and what to listen to from the perspective of the "Mere Old Man".
