Released in 2017, this fourth volume in the "Year Book" series compiles sound sources from the late 1980s and is the largest volume in the series at 5 CDs.
The legendary "TV WAR" performance with Daizaburo Harada and the "Ink Stick Session" with Bill Laswell, Toshinori Kondo, Carlos Alomar, and others are each included in their entirety on one CD, as is the Kisaragi Koharu performance "Matthew 1985 - That Man Did Nothing" on two CDs.
In addition to collaborative songs with Sandy and the Sunsetz and David Sylvian, the five-CD set includes commercial songs from the time, live radio performances with 大貫妙子 in the late 1980s {{52e78fcb2b6 ea87b922dd8d03a521a5}} in the latter half of the 80's. The album is packed with the most energetic activities.
The inclusion of "Futurista," an outtake from the album "Futurist Bastard," was also a big hit. As with their previous albums, the album includes an interview with 坂本龍一 explaining the songs and a booklet with rare photos from that era.

The fourth volume in the series contains rare recordings from 1985-1989 (the entire "Matthew 1985" performance with Kisaragi Koharu, Takahashi Yuji, Miyake Haruna, Watanabe Katsumi, and others, the session at Roppongi Inkstick, and excellent songs that were completed but not included in "Futuristic Bastards")" and the performance with 大貫妙子 on the NHK FM special program in 1989. Rachael/Sandy and the Sunsetz (first CD release), and the unreleased "The Garden (TOKIO KUMAGAI)" with 大貫妙子.
Although 坂本龍一 became world famous when he became the first Japanese to win an Academy Award for Best Original Score for the 1987 film "The Last Emperor" (released in Japan in 1988), he continued to release original albums in the late 1980s. In the latter half of the 1980s, he continued to release original albums, and was also actively involved in live tours and corporate commercials.
This album includes unreleased tracks and other sound sources that are currently hard to find. This compilation is a must-have for Sakamoto fans.
